What Happens in Books

Love to read and talk books

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins I really wanted to read this before the movie was out, and I'm glad I did.

It started well, it was engrossing and i couldn't stop reading it, but then I realized that what I'm reading is really just "The Hunger Games", you know, choosing tributes, getting them ready for the games, then the games, and then the winner!!
No surprises, I think I wasn't ready for this, I thought something totally wrong is going to mess up the games, and I think in a way it did, just not in this book.

There was so much violence, not just physical, but also in the fact that these tributes are so young, it was disturbing.

Despite the violence, At times I thought it was a bit childish, like what do you think life is going to be like in the future?
And, well, capital people and how they look!!

I'm finding it difficult to review this book on its own, as I just finished all of them, and I think I gave "Mockingjay" a better review. But I know that I would've given it more star rating if not for the mutts!

I'm not sure what I expected but I wasn't disappointed,

Would I recommend this book: yes, but I'd warn them about the violence.

Would I read the same author again: Not sure.
